The mandate of the Agrifood Technology Station (ATS) is to assist small and medium food enterprises to improve their use of technology and efficiencies. This includes facilitation of innovation and also technology transfer. This enterprise is funded by the National Department of Science & Technology through the Technology Innovation Agency. The unit is based at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Bellville in a stat of the art building.
