Only the second of its kind in the Western Cape, a new Checkers Foods - conveniently located at Clara Anna Fontein Lifestyle Estate in Durbanville - opened its doors for trading last week.
Inspired by customer demands for Checkers stores in their neighbourhoods, the smaller format store offers the convenience, quality and value for which the supermarket chain is renowned.
“Checkers Foods was designed with the purpose of providing customers with everything they want and need, right at their fingertips," explains Willem Hunlun, Chief Operating Officer for Checkers. "We therefore spent a great deal of time to understand exactly what our customers want and how they like to shop."

The 950m² store provides employment to 90 people, including 61 newly created jobs, and is managed by Linda Chetty, who has been with the retailer for 23 years. The store's trading hours are 07h00 to 19h00 from Mondays to Sundays.
