As February unfolds, bringing with it the enchanting spirit of love, we encourage you to channel that affection into the heart of your operations. In the world of food manufacturing, where precision and care shape the very essence of what we create, there's no better time to embrace both love and safety.

Exciting news! The highly anticipated Annual Food Safety Summit is returning, reclaiming its status as the paramount event in South Africa's food safety landscape. Beyond a mere summit, it's a jubilant celebration of resilience and unwavering commitment to top-notch food safety standards. In 2024, it's back with a bang, exploring the intricate interdependence of the entire food chain from farm to fork. This year's theme promises insightful discussions on the ripple effects within the food chain and introduces engaging interactive sessions, including role-playing—an exciting addition to our program!

Faith Makado took part in our survey and is the lucky winner of a R750 Takealot voucher. Faith is a Quality Systems Manager  at Unity Flexibles Pty Ltd.

We asked her what she is passionate about working in food safety and quality. Her response was: "Food Safety is directly linked to the wellbeing of our communities. Being one of the professionals that ensure that the food that ends up on the consumers table is safe,
gives me great sense of purpose. It is estimated that 1 in every 10 people fall ill after consuming unsafe food and hundreds of thousands die due to food poisoning every year. These numbers can be reduced if everyone in the food manufacturing chain plays their part and follow good manufacturing practices. Let us all give the gift of food
safety to our communities".
